The fall soccer season will soon be upon us. The board of directors of SYSL has been hard at work to make sure the league is ready, the fields are ready, and the players and parents are kept informed of important dates and events. Information regarding the important dates and events of the season can be found below.
Registration cost includes full uniforms (SYSL shorts, SYSL shirts, black socks). Families are required to purchase shinguards. All players must wear soccer cleats (or sneakers). Full uniform is required for all games and clinic. NOTE: no jewelry (earrings (including band-aids covering studs), bracelets, necklaces, rings, etc.) and only soft ponies in the hair (no barrettes, hard decorative ponies or clips). If your child does not comply with any of these they will NOT be allowed to play.
Mandatory Coaches Meeting
The mandatory coaches meeting will take place on Tuesday, August 28th at 7:30 PM at Clube Luis de Camoes, 76 Porter Street. At this meeting the coaches will receive their rosters, the schedule, the concession schedule, and the field lining schedule. Other logistical information regarding the season will also be discussed.

Pre-Season Field Cleanup
Field cleanup will take place on Saturday, September 1st, starting at 9 AM. ALL hands are welcome. There is a lot to do in order to get the fields ready, and we need a large contigency of people to accomplish it all. All those in attendance will have a chance to win four tickets to a Revolution game.
U10-U14 travel teams start play the weekend of September 8th.
U5-U10 recreactional teams start play Saturday, September 8th.
The recreation league games are played on Saturday’s at the following times
- U8B and U10B – 8:30am
- U8G and U5 – 10:00am
- U6 and TOPSoccer – 11:30am
- U16/U18 Coed – 1:00pm
Opening Day on September 8th will be our fourth annual JAMBOREE, stay tuned for more details! Each in-house team will be playing two games on opening day.
Jamboree Day Game Schedule:
- U8B and U10B – 8:30am and TBD
- U8G – 10:00am and TBD
- U5 – 10:00am
- U6 Coed – 11:30am and TBD
- TOPS – 11:30am
- U16/U18 Coed – 1:00pm
Games are scheduled to be played on 9/8, 9/15, 9/22, 9/29, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27 rain date if needed. In the event of multiple rain-outs, weekday games will be added to the schedule.
Travel team schedules are determined by the South Shore League and can be found at the league’s website (not updated yet). Note that the scheduled can be changed by the coaches, and that the updates will not be listed. So be sure to check with your coach for the latest schedule. Travel games are scheduled for 9/8, 9/15, 9/22, 9/29, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27 and 11/3. No games are scheduled for Columbus Day weekend.
Picture night for all teams is scheduled for Tuesday,October 2nd. Individual team times will be distributed approximately one week prior to picture night. Please be sure to attend in order for team photos to have all players represented.
Individual board members are responsible for coordinating the various age groups. This involves helping to create teams, find coaches, fill out rosters, schedule games, and more. These individuals also handle any issues that arise, whether it be with players, coaches , or parents.
